Chicago, Naperville, Aurora, Oak Brook, Schaumburg, Joliet, and the rest of Chicagoland in person. Milwaukee and Northwest Indiana by arrangement. Anywhere in the US remotely.
Per-seat desks that draft the admin work with a person approving what leaves, and engines that read public records for work before it goes public.
Operating businesses from about 20 to 500 people. Not startups, not chatbots for websites.
A two-week operations assessment, on site, ending in a ranked build list.
Why a local AI consultant matters for an operating business
The 70 percent of an AI project that is people and process happens in your office: watching how the coordinator actually handles a sub's paperwork, sitting with the estimator while a bid package comes together, seeing where the pile forms. That is hard to do over a video call and easy to do in a morning on site. The assessment is done in person by the founder for companies in Chicagoland, and the build reviews are too.
It also matters for the engine side. The signal engine running for a Chicago-area contractor reads Northern Illinois municipal agendas, permit filings, and state procurement, sources you learn by working the region.
Industries in Chicago and the suburbs
- Construction and facilities maintenance. Vendor onboarding, COI tracking, work order coordination, bid assembly, and a signal engine for funded work. See AI for construction companies.
- Manufacturing and machine shops. Quoting from drawings and emails, supplier document chasing, quality paperwork. The western suburbs and the I-88 and I-55 corridors are dense with 20 to 200 person shops whose front office runs on email and spreadsheets.
- Product and consumer goods. Trend and demand research engines that hand product teams briefs weekly. In production at a toy and game maker.
- Professional and service firms. Intake, document assembly, month-end.
How an engagement runs
- Assess, two weeks, on site. Where the hours go, seat by seat. What your software already does. How work reaches you. A ranked build list with the arithmetic shown, yours whether or not you continue.
- Build, weeks not quarters. One desk or one engine, on your real data, measured against a number agreed up front. Everything a desk produces is a draft; it cannot send, submit, or sign.
- Expand. Monthly counts. Next build when the last one pays for itself. Separate instance per client, written offboarding if you leave.

Not Keystone Strategy
Keystone AI LLC, Chicago, is unrelated to Keystone Strategy, the Boston economics consultancy, and to the several other Keystones in software and staffing. The name here comes from keystone species in ecology: a small presence with an outsized effect on everything around it. That is the design principle for the builds, too.
